Planning and creating a content-rich website and event campaign for the Prince's Charities Foundation

How do you help create a sustainability brand from scratch for HRH The Prince's of Wales's charitable foundation?

What they wanted:

In 2010, the Prince’s Charities Foundation decided to launch a new project to celebrate the best of UK sustainability: Start.

For this, they needed a broad range of communications. Lark were subcontracted to head up the editorial direction and content strategy of the Start website.

We wrote and published news stories and feature, managed the official Start website and social media, wrote and published a bi-monthly newsletter for Start subscribers and provided live coverage of the Start Festival in September 2010.

What we did:

We worked as part of a digital delivery team to create an editorial strategy for launching Start. Within six months, we had written, commissioned and edited more than 300 pieces of unique live content – and positioned Start as a dynamic new movement in UK sustainability.

As well as news, interviews and features, we created several interactive features for the site including a tool to help users eat seasonably – with information on dozens of seasonal fruit and veg – and an A-Z guide to recycling.

The result:

Our bi-monthly newsletter went out to 7,000 subscribers and the website attracted an audience of more than 160,000 unique users. Our work culminated in the Start Garden Party, a 10-day festival in the gardens of Clarence House, Lancaster House and Marlborough House.

We needed to launch a powerful website and social media campaign. As consultant editors, you created an excellent editorial strategy and produced over 300 engaging articles. This helped us to raise awareness of the Start project, and contributed to a hugely successful festival.
