Right now, it takes almost 10 years for someone with bipolar to get a diagnosis. In the meantime, it can destroy their lives: from relationships to careers, finances to future ambitions, without the right support, this condition can be devastating.

In summer 2025, the national charity for the condition, Bipolar UK, asked Lark to create a campaign to raise awareness of the symptoms of bipolar – and help more people get diagnosed quicker.

This campaign, featuring static and motion creative, needed to push a simple CTA, built on powerful storytelling. With maximum impact to stop social scrolling.

Discovery

Bipolar is widely misunderstood. And we needed the experts at Bipolar UK to help us understand the realities of living with bipolar: including tropes they wanted to avoid, and untapped topics to highlight.

Our main focus was understanding the symptoms – particularly hypomania, which includes reduced need for sleep, impulsive spending, irritability and burnout.

Together, we discussed the most common and relatable symptoms for our audience – to make them think: ‘Maybe that’s me?’.

Creation

The Larks initially presented four concepts, capturing a scale of tones, across photography, typography and illustration.

There was one clear winner – and the scamps we shared in that first presentation changed very little to become the live assets out today.

As you’ll see, the most noticeable changes we led on included the campaign name and CTA. We led here with ‘Maybe it’s bipolar?’ – a simple, natural phrase that can flex across different applications.

Lark led on all campaign messaging, shoot production, copy, design, and video editing.

Each of our six routes is a snapshot of reality, grounded in everyday life but dialled up for social attention: increased sex drive, overspending, anger, functioning on little to no sleep, regularly picking up new obsessions, and constant chatting.

Roll-out

Once signed off, we brought our scenarios to life through static and motion social assets and posters.

The Bipolar UK team is so excited to launch, test and learn with this accessible, engaging, thought-provoking set.
