Talking – and listening – to young people

Youth Talk
Visual rebrand

Youth Talk do great work but their visual branding was… not so great. We gave them a new look they could shout about.

Background colours change between different shades of blue, green, purple and orange. Overlaid white text reads, ‘Youth Talk’ – the logo for the mental health charity. The words, ‘We’re listening’ are at the bottom.

Anyone with teenagers can tell you how hard it is to get them to open up. That’s why Youth Talk offers a free, confidential counselling service for young people, but their branding was actually putting off those they wanted to help.

Youth Talk want to make sure every young person around St Albans has someone they can talk to about whatever’s worrying them.

Their compassionate, expert team provides free counselling for 13 to 25-year-olds but unfortunately (and they’d be the first to admit it) their branding looked like it had been created years before many of their clients were even born.

“Lark is one of the best agencies we have ever worked with – expert, responsive, honest and truly brilliant creative brains.”

After consulting with the Board, we produced three creative routes for a new visual language, then pitched them to the charity’s very own Youth Panel.

With their disarmingly astute feedback ringing in our ears, we whittled and honed to create a new look and feel for Youth Talk that was bright, bold and versatile without trying too hard to be cool.
