Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are invisible diseases. The effects can be devastating but people often struggle to talk about their conditions.

We devised and led ‘It Takes Guts’ – a bold campaign for Crohn’s and Colitis UK to inform and inspire people to start talking.

Working with the charity team and partners, we created a multi-channel campaign strategy, campaign website packed with practical tools and advice, as well as a campaign launch video. From interactive ‘talking toolkits’ to illustration galleries and more, people found the words to have real-life conversations, and show how they felt for the first time.

The result

The campaign was a huge success – many of those living with have said it’s helped them find the courage to stop suffering alone. Silence = broken.
