Taking a stand at the UK’s political party conferences

Unregulated e-scooters threaten the independence and the safety of people with sight loss. With party conference season fast approaching, we needed to help Guide Dogs make this the headline issue in a room full of worthy causes.

Quicker than an unregulated e-scooter, we came up with ‘Scoot Aware’, creating a campaign concept, messaging and design for a stall and ‘Wheel of Fortune’-style game to get the great and the good talking about e-scooter regulation.

The result

The Guide Dogs stall drew a high-profile crowd, including the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition, and even scooted off with an award for the best stand from the Labour Party conference. Plus, the campaign made PR Week’s top 5 campaigns for the month.

"Lark created an excellent concept and engaging visuals for the political party conferences.

“We met with 150 politicians and they all engaged with our messaging by playing the game Lark had designed for us.

“Being able to deliver a hard-hitting messaging in a light-hearted way meant it stood out in politicians’ minds.

In NfP polling of MPs, they were asked which organisations impressed them at the party conferences and we were voted number 1.”

Blanche Shackleton, Head of policy, public affairs and campaigns, Guide Dogs.
